MEME REVIEW MONDAY: Data Loss, Klingon Children's Books and a Vulcan Alignment Chart

Hello! Happy Meme Review “Monday”. I hope you are doing well. Sorry for missing last week. It was finals week for me so I did not have time to write an article. However I’m officially on summer break now so I’m all yours for the next 4 months!I know you’ve been anxious to see all this past week’s best memes so let’s get right into it!

The first meme is from @hahaha1d0that on Tumblr.

Though Picard isn’t technically “responsible” for their spouses’ death I still think this is very silly. I don’t think of Sisko and Crusher as similar characters so I find it funny that they have this in common.

Next up we have a meme from @amateurletariat on Tumblr.

This meme requires so much explaining. There’s a meme format called Loss that originated on Reddit. Basically this one comic artist, Tim Buckley, released a comic titled “Loss” for his comedy comic Ctrl+Alt+Del. Loss is a 4 panel comic where one of the main characters of Ctrl+Alt+Del has a miscarriage, which was quite jarring for readers of this comic known for its comedy. People took this comic and decided to “meme it” by simplifying it down to a certain pattern of lines, which you can see here. People then started positioning different things in this pattern to make what are now known as Loss memes. So this meme is Data Loss because it’s Data, positioned in the Loss formation. I like the Loss meme because of how crazy it is and how it’s really not funny at all without the context.

Next up we have a meme from @novakspector on Tumblr.

I like to imagine that this book really exists, however I doubt any Klingon book would have a cover with something as joyful as a rainbow on it. Though I love this edit, it does make me quite uncomfortable to see Gowron’s feet. I think I could’ve lived my whole life without thinking about his feet and now that I have I feel as though I am forever cursed by this thought.

Next up we have another meme from @novakspector on Tumblr.

I dislike how correct this meme is and I also cannot believe I never realized this. It seems so obvious now that it has been pointed out to me. I would also like to propose an addition to this meme. “Ferengi are space goblins.”

Next up we have a meme sent to me by my friend.

I love Q memes and I think this one is so goofy. I think Q’s favorite drink is “bothering Picard juice” and he drinks at least a gallon of it a day. I love memes that use clips from the show as meme formats and I think there are so many great meme formats for Q, including this one.

Next up we have a meme from @robintreks on Instagram.

I think this one image pretty much summarizes about a third of the DS9 episodes. I love Quark and Odo’s dynamic and I think this Yogi the bear moment pretty perfectly captures it. I also like that they included Rom, he deserves some love and attention sometimes.

Next up we have a meme from @campyalien on X.

This is an alignment chart that was originally made for cats however it somehow also works perfectly with the Spocks. This pretty much entirely sums up and accurately explains the differences between all the different versions of Spock. I’m thoroughly impressed.

Ok that’s all I have for you all today! See you next week!
