SEPTEMBER 13, 2022 - As part of Star Trek Day on September 8, 2022, it was announced that a new addition to the cast will be joining the USS Enterprise in 2023. Carol Kane, the Academy Award nominee, is beaming up to lend some engineering skills to the ship.

The 70-year-old actress will be joining the crew for their second season in a reoccurring role. She will be playing the new chief engineer Pelia. Described as highly educated and intelligent, the new senior engineer is not one to be trifled with. She solves problems calmly and brusquely due to her many years of experience.

Not much else about her character has been revealed yet, but it will be exciting to see how she fits in with the crew and how she’ll be integrated into the everyday life on board the ship.
