APRIL 5, 2023 - Last month we brought you the news that a new show entitled Khan!!! The Musical! was set to open off-Broadway in May. The parody is being produced by Peekskill Productions and will enjoy a limited five-week engagement at The Players Theatre in Manhattan beginning on Thursday, May 4, coincidentally the celebration day of that other Star franchise.

In honor of First Contact Day, the cast of the musical has been announced. According to the press release,

It is 2366, and Data the Android presents his campy musical adaptation of The Wrath of Khan. In this sci-fi send-up, an older Captain Kirk is experiencing a “coming of middle age” story when his nemesis Khan escapes exile and vows revenge. The ensuing cat-and-mouse game sparks an adventure that includes Vulcan tap dancing, Kirk’s long-lost son (a William Shatner impersonator), and of course… mutant space chickens!

Because what’s a space opera without mutant space chickens?

Subtitled A Parody Trek-tacular, the musical was co-written, composed, and with lyrics by Brent Black, co-conceived with additional materials by Alina Morgan, musically directed by Nicholas Kaminski, choreographed by Angel Reed, and directed by John Lampe.

It stars Zachary Kropp as Khan, Julian Manjerico, who played Beppo the Clown in last year’s A Man Called Otto opposite Tom Hanks, as Data, Clayton Matthews as Sulu/Chekov, Lindsey M.E. Newton as Bones/Scotty, Max Nusbaum as Spock, Crystal Marie Stewart as Uhura/Carol Marcus, Shyaporn Theerakulstit who played Lt. Hikaru Sulu on the long-running fan series, Star Trek: New Voyages Phase II as Kirk, and three-time nominee for Broadway World’s Best Performer in a Musical Laura Whittenberger as Saavik.

You can buy your tickets for the show here, but you’d better hurry. They’re sure to sell out.
