MARCH 1, 2022 - “We have engaged the Galactic Barrier.”

No one said that line, but when last we visited our heroes out at the edge of the galaxy, the U.S.S. Discovery had done exactly that. Book and Tarka were still attempting to deal with the Dark Matter Anomaly (DMA), but we learned there is more to Ruon Tarka than an ego driven by genius.

Coming up Thursday, March 3, is episode 11 of season four of Star Trek: Discovery, “Rosetta.” According to a press release, the episode is written by Terri Hughes Burton and directed by Jeff Byrd. Burton also wrote the season four episodes, “Choose to Live” and “…But to Connect” (with Carlos Cisco). In the episode, while Captain Burnham leads an away mission to a planet that was once home to the aliens responsible for the DMA, Book and Tarka secretly infiltrate the U.S.S. Discovery.

If the episode title is a reference to the Rosetta Stone, perhaps progress will be made regarding communication with Unknown Species 10-C…?

Three photos released from “Rosetta” show Commander Stamets addressing a group that includes President T’Rina of Ni’Var, Federation President Rillak, Captain Burnham, and Captain Saru; Dr. Culber, Commander Detmer, Burnham and Saru approaching in a corridor; and Ensign Tal explaining something to Stamets and Culber.

If you have any catching up to do before Thursday, Star Trek: Discovery is streaming now on Paramount+.
