APRIL 5, 2022 - Happy First Contact Day! Or so we hope it will be, 41 years from now, marking the point when we truly realize we are not alone in the universe. It is also an opportunity to help show others, right now, that they are not alone. All it takes is a Tweet.

From now until 11:59pm PT on Sunday, April 10, according to StarTrek.com, “CBS and Paramount+, a division of CBS Interactive Inc., will jointly donate $1 for every Tweet (one per handle) sent that uses the hashtag #StarTrekUnitedGives … up to a maximum donation of $30,000 (or $10,000 for each charity). The total amount raised will be divided evenly among three charity organizations who do the real-world work of supporting LGBTQ+ equality, veterans, and humanitarian aid.”

The charities that are to benefit from this effort, as of this writing, appear to be unspecified.

May all of us, and especially those that need some support from their fellow humans, live long and prosper.
