AUGUST 25, 2021 - Many a Star Trek fan likely has September 8th marked on their calendar as the day Star Trek: The Original Series premiered, in 1966. Star Trek Day is coming up, and 55 years on so are the celebrations.

Like last year, ViacomCBS will be virtually marking Star Trek Day with a series of panels and other surprises, and this year they will be live. According to TrekMovieStar Trek: The Next Generation’s Wil Wheaton and LeVar Burton’s daughter, Mica Burton, will host a series of conversations with cast members and other creators from all five of the current Star Trek series in production. A legacy panel celebrating Gene Roddenberry’s impact will feature Gene’s son, Rod Roddenberry, as well as cast members from all five of the previous Star Trek television series. Star Trek composer Jeff Russo will be on hand, too, along with a live orchestra.

The Star Trek Day celebrations will also include the return of the social media fundraising campaign #StarTrekUnitedGives, the launch of a new campaign honoring the legacy of Gene Roddenberry, and a sale on Star Trek Day merchandise.

The Star Trek Day events will be streaming live from Los Angeles beginning at 5:30pm PT/8:30pm ET. The livestream is free and will be available at StarTrek.com/Day internationally and on Paramount+ and Paramount+’s Twitch page in the U.S. Recordings will be available after the fact on Paramount+ and the Paramount+ YouTube channel.

You can find more details on all the Star Trek Day happenings at TrekMovie.com.
