The 45th Annual Saturn Awards are taking place this Friday, September 13th, and it was announced yesterday that they will be streamed live, thanks to a partnership with CONtv.

The Saturn Awards are an annual celebration of the best of horror, sci-fi and fantasy. This year’s awards will be hosted by actor and comedian Aisha Tyler, and feature awards spanning film and TV, stars and creators. Star Trek: Discovery has been nominated a total of five times this year: Best Streaming Science Fiction, Action or Fantasy Series; Best Actress in a Streaming Presentation for Sonequa Martin-Green; and Best Supporting Actor in a Streaming Presentation for three of Discovery’s stars: Wilson Cruz, Doug Jones, and Ethan Peck. Also expected to appear at the event are Jamie Lee Curtis, Jon Favreau, Kevin Feige, the Duffer Brothers, Katee Sackhoff, and George Takei.

CONtv is the product of a partnership between Cinedigm digital content distribution and Wizard World, the world’s largest comic con producers. CONtv describes itself as “THE digital destination for Comic Con fans”. Their streaming service includes horror, sci-fi and fantasy genre programming.

CONtv’s stream of this year’s awards starts at 6pm pacific on Friday with pre-show and red carpet coverage, and runs through 9pm pacific.
