Creation presents virtual Star Trek panel with Robert Duncan McNeill and Garrett Wang

Creation Entertainment, the company behind the Star Trek Las Vegas Convention, are holding a virtual Star Trek panel this weekend. Featuring Star Trek: Voyager stars Robert Duncan McNeill and Garrett Wang, the panel starts at 10am PT and is ticketed on a “pay what you can” basis.

TrekMovie.com reports that this panel is one of Creation Entertainment’s new “Virtual Fan Experiences”: online panels featuring celebrities, similar to how you’d see them in a convention setting. The virtual experiences are streamed via StageIt, an online concert venue. They describe their service as “a LIVE online video concert that is never recorded or archived.” So if you want to participate, you’d better get in there because tickets are limited.

Unlike stage panels at conventions, this one will be focused on Q&A, with the questions being asked by ticketholders via chat. There will also be a competition for the “Top Tipper” - the fan who contributes the most via StageIt’s tipping mechanism will win a private video meeting with Wang and McNeill after the panel ends.

Now, if the virtual panel thing is not your “thing”, Creation are also offering another option coming up next week: a limited meet-and-greet with Wang and McNeill next Wednesday, May 6th. Tickets for that event, which is limited to 15 participants, are available via an online auction.

So just to recap: if you’re a fan of Star Trek: Voyager, and of Robert Duncan McNeill and Garrett Wang in particular, there are two events coming up: a live Q&A on Saturday, May 2nd at 10am PT, and a limited virtual meet-and-greet next Wednesday, May 6th, at 3pm PT. You can find out more information on both these events on Creation Entertainment’s website.
