DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is heading off on some kind of...star trek. And a bunch of other classic TV shows, too.

Next Tuesday, Legends of Tomorrow, a spinoff show based on DC Comics and set in the Arrowverse, is airing their latest episode, called “The One Where We’re Trapped On TV”. A piece from Digital Spy has the details, plus the trailer and some sneak peek images.

In the upcoming episode, Charlie, played by Maisie Richardson-Sellers, scatters the Legends (the show's heroes) throughout a bunch of famous TV shows. According to the episode’s synopsis, however, “in true Legends style some can’t just be blissfully ignorant and happy but figure out a way to end up messing with the system.” In the trailer, you can see the Legends travel to Friends, Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, and the Teletubbies...and of course, Star Trek. But also kind of not. “Space...the fatal frontier…” opens the trailer, followed by a Trek-alike starship, a crew in brightly-coloured velour, and an alien species on the viewfinder sporting the “forehead of the week”.

One of the show’s stars, Nick Zano, told TV Line he thinks the episode is one of the best of the series, and one of the hardest. He said of the episode’s director, Marc Guggenheim, who is also an executive producer for the Arrowverse, “[Guggenheim] made some creative choices that were practical that some people save for editing rooms, [but] he did it on the floor, which was kind of fun and interesting, and it challenged everybody in a very productive way.”

The Legends of Tomorrow episode “The One Where We’re Trapped on TV” is due to air next Tuesday, May 26th, on The CW.
