Did Anthony Rapp Just Tweet His Way into a New Musical Video Game?

Anthony Rapp may just have tweeted himself into a new video game. The Star Trek: Discovery actor, who is known for his extensive experience in musical theater, as well as voice work for the video game Star Trek Online, got wind of a new video game in development, and wanted in on it.

He tweeted on Sunday: “Hey @TroyBakerVA I understand you’re helping put together a story-based musical video game. Ummmmm.... Let me try to ask this calmly. CAN I BE IN IT PRETTY PLEASE?????!!!!?”

The video game to which Rapp was referring is called “CHORUS: An Adventure Musical”, and it’s currently crowdfunding for startup money on Fig. According to the campaign page, “CHORUS is an adventure musical -- one part narrative-driven adventure and one part interactive musical, written by former BioWare lead writer David Gaider, scored by award-winning composer Austin Wintory, voice directed by acclaimed actor and director, Troy Baker, and starring the extremely talented Laura Bailey. [...] Featuring a cast of rich and compelling characters, CHORUS is a thrilling tale of gods, romance, danger, and tragedy… all brought to life through the power of song.”

Less than an hour after his original tweet, Rapp tweeted again, this time with a link to the crowdfunding campaign, and the caption, “Hey, so some very talented folks are working on a very cool thing, and I MIGHT GET TO BE A PART OF IT!!! Check it out!” When a fan asked if he had just tweeted his way into a video game, he replied a very cheeky, “Mmmmmmmmaaaaayyyyybeeeeeee??????”

The campaign for CHORUS: An Adventure Musical has already surpassed its $600,000 initial goal, but it’s still aiming for a few stretch goals, up to $900,000, with just four days left.
