Estelle Harris, Seinfeld and Toy Story actor and Star Trek: Voyager guest star, has passed away at 93

Estelle Harris in Star Trek: Voyager “Sacred Ground”

APRIL 5, 2022 - Star Trek: Voyager guest actor Estelle Harris has passed away. She was 93. News of her death was reported to Deadline over the weekend.

In the Voyager episode “Sacred Ground”, in which Captain Janeway must go through a ritual experience in order to save Kes, Harris played the part of the “Old Woman” in the waiting room. She is best known for her work as Estelle Constanza in 27 episodes of Seinfeld, where she played the on screen mother of fellow Star Trek: Voyager guest Jason Alexander. Alexander posted a tribute to his colleague and friend on social media, saying, “One of my favorite people has passed - my tv mama, Estelle Harris. The joy of playing with her and relishing her glorious laughter was a treat. I adore you, Estelle. Love to your family. Serenity now and always.”

Harris had an extensive acting career, appearing in or lending her voice to many television projects, including Futurama, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Married… with Children, and Night Court. Film credits include The Chairman of the Board, Out to Sea, The Odd Couple II, and Playing Mona Lisa. Harris also provided the voice of “Mrs. Potato Head” in the second, third, and fourth Toy Story films, as well as several short films from the franchise.

Harris is survived by her three children, three grandchildren, and her great-grandson.
