MEME REVIEW MONDAY: The Riker Maneuver, Klingon Toilet Paper, and More

Meme Review Monday 1/15/24.

Hello! Welcome back to another Meme Review Monday! The memes this week are epic and I know you’re all excited so let’s jump right in.

First up we have a meme from @TheMemeCollect8 on X.

The minute I saw this meme I visibly cringed and that’s why it’s absolutely perfect. I know it’s a bit vulgar but it’s also quite silly.  I also like that this meme implies that Klingons invented toilet paper. Worf looks so concerned in the background and I would be too.

Next up we have a meme from @dataentryspecialist on Tumblr

I absolutely love Data and I love him in this meme. I imagine this is what happens in Data’s head whenever he sees Spot. I know Data is not a computer, he is an android, however I will give this meme a pass because it’s just so cute.

Next up we have a meme from @JamesMGeary on X.

I think I’ve actually seen this meme before, or at least something similar, however I have yet to put it in a meme review so I thought I should include it. This meme is a classic. You really can’t go wrong with it.

Next up we have a meme from @tomatosoupenjoyer on Tumblr.

I don’t know the original format that this meme came from but I think it’s perfect. I love Spirk and I think this just perfectly sums up my interpretation of TOS. Poor Nurse Chapel deserved so much better.

Next up we have a meme from @spocks-bikini-and-datas-bra on Tumblr

Now I could not explain to you exactly why I find this meme so funny, however I know I want to print it out and put it on my wall. Spock looks so silly dressed up like one of the men in black. I absolutely love this concept. Imagine getting a knock on your door from these two nerds and they pull out their badges like FBI agents.

Next we have yet another meme by @spocks-bikini-and-datas-bra on Tumblr

I honestly think I’m more scared of Gentle Garak than normal Garak. This whole meme is so surreal and I love it. Why is Garak in a daisy? Why is that daisy in its own galaxy? Why is gentle Garak orbiting the Earth? I have so many questions and that’s why this is wonderful.

Next we have a meme from @robintreks on Instagram.

This is such an amazing use of a wonderful meme format. The Riker Maneuver is one of my favorite Trek inside jokes and I loved that it was used in this meme. I also like that this meme implies that while Riker is running this booth he will have to be constantly demonstrating the Riker Maneuver.

Finally, last but not least, we have a meme made by yours truly.

As excited as I am about the new Kelvin Timeline movie I really wish Star Trek would start developing the timeline more in the future. I would personally love to see some new conflicts with new species. As fans we have little-to-no idea about what happens between DS9 and Discovery season 3. I hope with Prodigy season 2 we will get to see more of the modern Federation.I know the Kelvin timeline movie wouldn’t answer those questions but it just highlights a trend I’m seeing with newer Trek. All that being said I am actually super excited for the movie and will definitely be talking about it incessantly until it comes out.

Ok that’s all I have for you today! See you next week!

Though he may be young, he self-describes as a hardcore nerd, lover of cheese sticks and niche internet discourse.
