MEME REVIEW MONDAY: Warp Troubles, Human Rights, and More Dukats Than You Can Shake a Spear At

Meme Review Monday is back, baby!

Hello and welcome back to another Meme Review! This week has been amazingly sparse in memeable Star Trek content so this week's meme collection is quite eclectic. I hope you enjoy!

Up first we have a meme from @benjalicious on Tumblr.

I personally love memes referencing “Chain of Command” and I think this one is perfect. I’ve never seen this version of the Drake meme so that was a fun surprise. It is literally the perfect version of this Drake meme for the Five/Four guys meme. Overall very very solid meme.

Next we have a meme from @socialistsinspace on instagram

This meme was pretty straight forward but I love it all the same. I appreciate that in this meme warp 10 is a drug and the trip (haha get the pun) is being everywhere all at once (and maybe turning into a lizard).

Next up we have a meme from @unidentifiedlyingobject on Tumblr.

Fun fact about me, I absolutely love Shakespeare so of course I loved this meme. @unidentifiedlyingobject has been reading Romeo and Juliet and keeps posting Star Trek memes about it on their Tumblr and I feel like these memes are catered specifically to me. Star Trek and Shakespeare combined? What more could a man want? Also I love the editing of all 40 Dukats.

Next up we have a meme from @stra-tek on Tumblr.

This is a play on a The Simpsons meme and I think it’s great. I do wonder why Data has more human rights than Riker. I think that’s a very funny detail. This meme does make me think about how exactly Starfleet decides whether something has “rights” because it does seem a little bit inconsistent across the series.

Next up we have a meme from @lonely-girl-1612 on Tumblr.

This meme is so absurd and I love it. Party Spock is very scary to me. Why are his glasses like that? What is the scarf(?) he’s wearing? What is he smiling at? What exactly does a logical party entail? I don’t think any of my burning questions will ever be answered and I simply have to accept Party Spock as he is.

Next up we have a meme from @robintreks on Instagram.

I’ve never actually seen a Top Gun movie so I have no clue how good Top Gorn would be but I’d like to imagine it would be absolutely epic. I’m not really a huge fan of action movies but I would definitely watch one that had Gorn instead of guns.

Next up we have one of my favorite memes ever from @earlgreymemes on X.

I love RuPaul’s Drag Race and I actually just started watching the new season. So of course, when I ran across a meme that included both Star Trek and Drag I had to include it. I never knew I needed a Vulcan version of RuPaul’s Drag Race until I saw this meme. Now I don’t know how I’ve gone my whole life without it.

Ok that’s all I have for you this week. Alas I could not for the life of me come up with an original Star Trek meme. The well of creativity was dry today. Apologies. I will see you all next week!
