New App-Enabled Tribbles Available to Pre-Order
Have you ever wanted to own your very own tribble? Well, now you can! Okay, so technically you could have owned a tribble for a while - myself, I own at least four. But now, you can have your very own app-enabled tribble.
TrekToday.com reports that Science Division LLC is now taking pre-orders on its new App-Enabled Star Trek Interactive Tribble. You can find it online at sciencediv.com, or if you’re coming to the Star Trek Las Vegas Convention next week, you can interact with one of the tribbles for yourself, at the convention.
The app-enabled tribble comes with three operating modes, controlled via an iOS or Android app. In “At Ease” mode, tribbles will trill and vibrate gently. When “On Duty”, it will coo or shriek depending on whether the person handling it is an ally or a Klingon in disguise. And finally, in “Watchdog” mode, if you move the tribble, it will respond by shrieking.
The App-Enabled Star Trek Interactive Tribble will cost $59.99 and pre-orders are expected to ship in early 2020. Early customers will be eligible for exclusive pre-sale incentives too.
As for me, I think I’ll skip it. Call me paranoid, but I’m pretty sure there’s a greater-than-50% chance these toys were sent back from the future by a Control-compromised Captain Leland.
