MARCH 8, 2023 – If you’ve ever been to Lovejoy’s Tea Room in Portland, Oregon, you won’t recognize the place now, but you might know the new name.

Lovejoy’s has relocated and is now Emperor Georgiou’s Tea Room. While the Mirror Universe isn’t known for its hospitality, the rebranding and redesigned interior by the “queer, Black, neurodivergent-owned” establishment is an effort to reflect more of a Star Trek approach to life. Infinite diversity in infinite combinations.

Emperor Georgiou’s says in an explanation on their website for the design change, “[W]e thought it would be more respectful to our diverse staff and customers to evolve our space into one that incorporates other communities not previously highlighted. We really hope that our new space invites everyone, from different backgrounds, to enjoy high tea. This is a safe space for all.”

Oh, and the owners? They are Brendon and Wellington Georgiou.
