Product Review: Enterprise (Star Trek) 3-Piece Necktie Gift Set from Cufflinks.com

The Enterprise 3-piece necktie gift set from Cufflinks.com

DECEMBER 8, 2021 - Last year, Cufflinks.com sent me one of their officially-licensed Star Trek neckties to review, but I wasn’t really doing product reviews on YouTube at the time, so we just stuck to print...BUT! When they asked me to do another review, this time of the necktie gift set, I thought yessssss...now I get to do the unboxing.

The Gift Set

Cufflinks.com’s officially-licensed Enterprise 3-Piece Necktie Gift Set comprises their Enterprise Flight Blue Stripe Men’s Necktie, along with their Enterprise Silhouette Tie Bar and Silver Delta Shield Cufflinks. Both the cufflinks and tie bar are silver toned base metal, and the cufflinks have fixed backs. The tie is 100% silk in a beautiful dark blue with light blue stripe, featuring an embroidered silhouette of the Enterprise on the front.

All three pieces of this set are classy and understated, and the color choice will work well with a number of suits and situations. You can combine the three or wear them separately to ramp up or down the Trek-ness. For a more in-depth review of the tie, you can read last year’s review (the tie hasn’t changed).

The price

At the time of this review, the gift set was priced $140 on Cufflinks.com. That’s comparable to other novelty or officially-licensed cufflinks/tie sets from places like The Disney Store. It’s also in line with where you’d expect to step up from a silk tie on its own; a patterned silk tie from Nordstrom runs $80-90.

Overall

Overall, if you know a tie-wearer, this set makes a wonderful gift. One of the best things about it is that it’s a nice blue-on-blue stripe, and the Enterprise motif sits low on the tie, so it’s subtle. The whole set is good quality and officially-licensed, so you can be sure you’re getting a good product. Cufflinks.com is an established brand for officially-licensed mens accessories, so you can trust their quality. And the best part? With this set, you can dial up or down the Trek-ness depending on your mood.

While you can get Star Trek accessories that are less expensive, this set is a nice “step-up” from any of the components alone, and will definitely get you that “ahhhh” factor when your loved one or special person opens it.
