DECEMBER 17, 2020 - It seems Star Trek: Voyager actor Robert Picardo has caught the YouTube bug. Blending his musical talent and strength as an actor, Picardo’s YouTube channel is a sort of “Bob Picardo Variety Show” that showcases his talent, personality, and his love for Star Trek.

Picardo’s YouTube page began back in June of this year and his parody music video “Spent My Life as an Actor” has gathered more than 65,000 views. Since then, Picardo has added dozens of new videos, including the ever-expanding series of short videos directed toward Voyager fans, Technobabble Al Fresco. In the first five installments, Picardo recited a selection of the Doctor’s dialogue from Star Trek: Voyager, explaining the episode and circumstances surrounding the line. The latest video, Technobabble Al Fresco #6, sees Picardo paying homage to the late composer Jerry Goldsmith by singing the Star Trek: Voyager theme, which Goldsmith composed. In each of the videos, you can see the actor spinning in circles during his performance, which shouldn’t surprise any viewers familiar with the sometimes over-the-top Picardo.

Other fun features to Picardo’s YouTube channel include notable moments from his time on Star Trek: Voyager, Picardo’s acting reels, and Your Future in Love with Alphonso, a recurring series of short videos featuring the familiar face of someone Picardo says is his “cousin”. So if you need a little “pick-me-up” this week - something quick to make you smile - check out Picardo’s Technobabble al Fresco and other videos on YouTube.
