Star Trek actor Marj Dusay has died. According to a piece from The Hollywood Reporter, her death was reported Tuesday, January 28th by her stepdaughter Elizabeth Perine on Facebook. She was 83.

Dusay was only in one episode of Star Trek, but it was a doozy: she played Kara in the Original Series season 3 opener, “Spock’s Brain”. In the episode, her character steals Spock’s brain, leading Kirk and McCoy on a desperate chase to bring it back.

Outside of Star Trek, Dusay had an extensive career in television, including notable roles in the soap operas Santa Barbara, Days of Our Lives, All My Children, and The Guiding Light.

Dusay’s stepdaughter said of her, “She was quite a woman and had quite a grand life.” Please join me in sending condolences to Dusay’s family.
