In celebration of Women's History Month join Moonlight and Mawazo with guests- Dr. Erin Macdonald, astrophysicist and science consultant for the Star Trek franchise and Tamia Harper, host of the SyFy Sistas' Book Club in a discussion of favorite female characters and authors. Moonlight and Mawazo is a science fiction and fantasy short story contest lighting a path for diverse authors and characters to create universes of imagination.

Wondercon: Friday, March 29 – Sunday, March 31

This annual mother of a blowout, taking place at the Anaheim (California) Convention Center, will include the screening of Star Trek: Discovery’s season five premiere. Get all the billions and billions of details at Wondercon.

The Regular Stuff

·These are the X and Mastodon watchalongs:

o   #TOSSatNight starts at 9pm PT on Saturday night and follows a different episode of The Original Series every week, and

o   #StarTrekHour is a Q&A-format event, every Tuesday at 1pm PT.

·Then there’s Star Trek: Watch Party, hosted daily and coordinated on Facebook. Every evening, they use the Teleparty browser extension to watch Star Trek together. To find out more, head over to Star Trek: Watch Party on Facebook.

·Speaking of a Star Trek watch party: the iBlind Users Group hosts Trekkie Talk on the first and third Thursdays of every month. They watch an audio descriptive version of a Star Trek episode and get together virtually to discuss it. To find out how to join in, visit ibugtoday.com/trekkie-talk.

·Virtual Trek Con presents The Main Viewer every Tuesday - a live discussion show on YT with occasional special guests and an open chat geared towards fan interaction.

· Join Grey Havens Philosophy and Outworld Brewing every first Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. as they discuss the big ideas inspired by Star Trek. The gatherings are at Outworld Brewing, in Longmont, Colorado. Attendance is free, but an RSVP for planning purposes is appreciated at Eventbrite.

· The Observation Deck features a free series of online Star Trek watch parties, with episodes chosen from across the franchise. Set course for The Observation Deck for all the details, including the schedule and to sign up.

·And finally, there’s Sid City Social Club, hosted by Star Trek: Deep Space Nine star Alexander Siddig’s official fan website. The Club now holds quarterly meetings. ·Ongoing through March 2024, the National Museum of African American History and Culture hosts the exhibition, “Afrofuturism: A History of Black Futures,” which includes a uniform worn by Nichelle Nichols.
