Star Trek Day Special Program: Friday, September 8

Join Star Trek: Lower Decks’ Commander Jack Ransom, Jerry O’Connell for a salute to the franchise, which will include segments that look back at memorable moments over the past 57 years; commemorate 50 years of Star Trek animation; pay tribute to Star Trek: Discovery, ahead of its final season; provide an exclusive sneak-peek clip from the upcoming fourth season of Star Trek: Lower Decks; and commemorate many other moments that highlight Star Trek’s legacy. The program will be streamed free on multiple platforms.

Also, Pluto TV will be running Star Trek: The Original Series and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine all day on its Star Trek Channel and More Star Trek Channel, respectively. Head over to Star Trek for more information.

Mythgard Pub Night: Out of This World Books: Sunday, September 10

Join the editors, authors and artists who created Star Trek: Essays Exploring the Final Frontier and Star Wars: Essays Exploring a Galaxy Far, Far Away for a virtual discussion of their books. Check out the details and register for the Zoom gathering at Mythgard.

Watch Trek - Look Forward: Regeneration: Sunday, September 10

The virtual watch along and discussion returns this weekend. Life is hard; self-care is a thing. Join the discussion, starting at 10:00 a.m. PT, by registering at Watch Trek - Look Forward.

The Regular Stuff

·These are the Twitter watchalongs:

o   #allstartrek runs Sunday through Friday at 8/7C and follows the Heroes and Icons Channel’s All Star Trek programme.

o   #TOSSatNight starts at 9pm PT on Saturday night and follows a different episode of The Original Series every week, and

o   #StarTrekHour is a Q&A-format event, every Tuesday at 1pm PT.

·Then there’s Star Trek: Watch Party, hosted daily and coordinated on Facebook. Every evening, they use the Teleparty browser extension to watch Star Trek together. To find out more, head over to Star Trek: Watch Party on Facebook.

·Speaking of a Star Trek watch party: the iBlind Users Group hosts Trekkie Talk on the first and third Thursdays of every month. They watch an audio descriptive version of a Star Trek episode and get together virtually to discuss it. To find out how to join in, visit ibugtoday.com/trekkie-talk.

·But wait, there’s more watch partying: Club IDIC hosts a weekly watch party and discussion at 6pm Alberta Time every Friday. The schedule and Zoom links are available at the Club IDIC Facebook page.

·Virtual Trek Con presents The Main Viewer every Tuesday - a live discussion show on YT with occasional special guests and an open chat geared towards fan interaction.

·Disco Does DnD - livestream DnD game with DSC actors on Twitch, every Sunday at 1pmPT/4pmET.

· Join Grey Havens Philosophy and Outworld Brewing every first Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. as they discuss the big ideas inspired by Star Trek. The gatherings are at Outworld Brewing, in Longmont, Colorado. Attendance is free, but an RSVP for planning purposes is appreciated at Eventbrite.

·And finally, there’s Sid City Social Club, hosted by Star Trek: Deep Space Nine star Alexander Siddig’s official fan website. They meet twice monthly on the first Tuesday and third Friday of every month, with occasional pop-up meetings with Sid as his schedule allows. ·Ongoing through October, Starship Edsel is a Star Trek inspired farce set aboard the Federation Starship Edsel towards the end of the 24th century. It is based upon a LARP written and developed by Brandon Brylawski, who is also a producer and head writer on this show. Performances take place at the Otherworld Theatre, in Chicago. ·Ongoing through March 2024, the National Museum of African American History and Culture hosts the exhibition, “Afrofuturism: A History of Black Futures,” which includes a uniform worn by Nichelle Nichols.
