Star Trek: Prodigy drops 2 new teasers during Sunday NFL football on CBS

Rylee Alazraqui as Rok-Tahk and Brett Gray as Dal appear in promotional teasers for Star Trek: Prodigy

OCTOBER 24, 2021 - In a publicity pairing that is certainly unexpected and unique, Paramount+ released their latest preview clips of the upcoming Star Trek: Prodigy during the Sunday coverage of NFL football on CBS. The clips, each one minute long, give viewers a glimpse into the early adventures of Brett Gray’s Dal and Rylee Alazraqui’s Rok-Tahk as they seek an escape from entrapment on a desolate mining planet.

The first clip, which also dropped on the Paramount+ Twitter feed, features Dal and Rok-Tahk exploring the USS Protostar, an abandoned Starfleet vessel they discover on their planet. Apparently they haven’t been able to communicate up until this point, because when Rok-Tahk powers up the Protostar the Universal Translator kicks in, and they are finally able to introduce themselves to one another.

The second clip features a more action-packed sequence as Dal engages in a high-speed chase to get away from the mining colony, being chased by the robot sentry Watchers introduced in a preview clip during the Lower Decks season finale episode of The Ready Room. Seeking a way out, Dal decides to take a route through the Rubble Crusher Outlet, which proves to be a dubious choice. This clip also dropped on the official Star Trek Twitter feed.

With just a few days until the Prodigy’s premiere, the powers that be are pulling out all the stops to keep interest high, using every possible expression of corporate synergy—even the National Football League. You can catch Star Trek: Prodigy starting October 28th on Paramount+.
