Star Trek’s Gates McFadden releases clip of new podcast ahead of new May 12th launch date

APRIL 15, 2021 - After five months of waiting, the new podcast from The Nacelle Company hosted by Star Trek: The Next Generation star Gates McFadden is finally coming to podcast platforms in just a few weeks. Originally scheduled to debut this month, the limited series podcast Gates McFadden InvestiGates: Who Do You Think You Are? will officially hit the airwaves on May 12.

Promising “one on one, intimate conversations unlike any Star Trek fan has ever seen or heard before”, Who Do You Think You Are? will feature heart-to-heart discussions between Gates McFadden and some of her closest friends from the Star Trek franchise. TNG actors Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, Wil Wheaton, Brent Spiner, Denise Crosby, Michael Dorn and John de Lancie will all be guests on the podcast, along with notable Star Trek makeup artist Michael Westmore and more.

“I can’t say I know the ins and outs of podcasting, although I am learning,” McFadden said of the project. “I do know how to be funny and silly, serious and truthful, and ultimately, how to have lively conversations with my extraordinary group of close friends from the Star Trek series.” McFadden went on to clarify that this would not be a TNG rewatch podcast like The 7th Rule or The Delta Flyers (which feature Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager, respectively), but instead would be personal conversations about their lives.

The Nacelle Company recently opened NacelleCast Studios, a brand new, state-of-the-art podcast studio in Burbank, California, as the main podcast studio for NacelleCast productions. Lifelong Trekkie and Founder and CEO of The Nacelle Company, Brian Volk-Weiss, said the organization is “deeply honored” to be collaborating with McFadden on her first podcast.
