Star Trek’s Sonequa Martin-Green stars in the upcoming Netflix Christmas film Holiday Rush

If you like Sonequa Martin-Green, and you like Christmas movies, then boy have I got some good news for you.

A trailer dropped yesterday for a new Netflix Christmas film, starring Star Trek’s leading lady. Holiday Rush is the story of popular radio DJ Rush Williams, who loses his cushy job just before Christmas, threatening his and his kids’ extravagant lifestyle. As the trailer says, “Through downsizing, the family starts to realize that having less could lead to more good than they ever imagined.” Rush Williams is played by Romany Malco. Green plays Roxy Richardson, his producer and - presumably - love interest.

Netflix has been cashing in big on the cheesy Christmas movie trend over the last couple years, and this film looks to be no exception. Based solely on the trailer, it looks like a well produced, moderately sentimental holiday tale, perfect for wrapping presents to. Holiday Rush premieres on Netflix on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28th.
