Today’s the day! It’s New York Comic Con, but virtual...and the Star Trek Universe is hosting a big panel.

StarTrek.com helpfully published a guide this week to the goings-on, including a few hints about special things to come on the day, and previews of promotional merchandise. It all kicks off on the New York Comic Con YouTube channel at 9am PT.

First up it’s the cast of Star Trek: Lower Decks with Wil Wheaton as moderator, where they’ll be doing a special version of after show The Ready Room for the Lower Decks season finale (which is streaming as of today). According to a trailer posted in the StarTrek.com piece, there will be an “unannounced guest” turning up, as well, and that’s in addition to Mike McMahan, Tawny Newsome, Jack Quaid, Noël Wells, Eugene Cordero, Dawnn Lewis, Jerry O’Connell, Fred Tatasciore and Gillian Vigman, who were already confirmed.

Star Trek: Discovery is up next, with a panel moderated by Sarah Rodman, Executive Editor at Entertainment Weekly magazine, and featuring series stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, Mary Wiseman and Wilson Cruz, along with newcomers David Ajala, Blu del Barrio and Ian Alexander. They’re due to show a sneak preview of the upcoming season three, and again, according to the trailer, Alex Kurtzman, who will also be in on the Discovery panel, will have a special announcement.

While that’s it for the big Star Trek Universe panel, there are also a couple of others going on, too: on Friday at 6:10am PT, Hero Collector will be discussing what’s coming up in their Star Trek line of collectible model ships; and on Sunday at 12pm PT StarTrek.com managing editor Kendra James will moderate a panel on All the Ladies of Starfleet, featuring authors Una McCormack and Cassandra Rose Clarke, journalist Swapna Krishna, and publicity manager Lauren Jackson.

But that’s not all...no! That’s not all!

Also in the StarTrek.com piece are details about special con deals on books, apparel and collectibles, including pre-orders for the book The Wisdom of Picard, discounts on Hero Within Star Trek-branded jackets, and a link to pre-order the new gold-freaking-plated XL Enterprise-D from Hero Collector and Eaglemoss.
