FEBRUARY 24, 2023 – This is the third year for the Critics Choice Super Awards, and the Star Trek franchise has been within their sensor range since the beginning. Now it’s Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ turn.

Star Trek on Paramount+ announced on Twitter on Wednesday that SNW has been nominated for Best Scifi/Fantasy Series, and Anson Mount is in the running for Best Actor in a Scifi/Fantasy Series.

SNW is up against Andor, For All Mankind, House of the Dragon, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, and Stranger Things.

Anson Mount’s competition includes Chiwetel Ejiofor (The Man Who Fell to Earth), Samuel L. Jackson (The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey), Diego Luna (Andor), Adam Scott (Severance), and Matt Smith (House of the Dragon).

The Super Awards were established in 2020 to honor the finest in genre fiction film, television and home media releases, including action, superhero, horror, science fiction, fantasy and animation. The awards are presented by the Critics Choice Association, which was founded in 1995 and is the largest film critics organization in the United States and Canada.

The Awards will be announced on March 16.
