Today in Star Trek history: Voyager episode 5x12 “Bride of Chaotica”

It was today, January 27th, back in 1999, that the Star Trek: Voyager season five episode “Bride of Chaotica” first aired. This episode, one of a series of black-and-white “Captain Proton” holodeck episodes, saw Voyager’s Captain Janeway assuming the role of Queen Arachnia in order to thwart the evil Doctor Chaotica and bring order back to the ship's holodeck. Oh, and also save Voyager itself, and probably the quadrant too...You know what Star Trek’s like.

According to Terry J. Erdmann and Paula M. Block’s definitive Star Trek 101 book, “Bride of Chaotica” ranks as one of Star Trek: Voyager’s “Ten Essential Episodes”.
