ViacomCBS to list shares on Nasdaq after merger

Viacom and CBS

Shares in CBS will no longer be traded on the New York Stock Exchange after it merges with Viacom, which is expected early next month. In a press release, CBS Corporation announced that it notified the New York Stock Exchange on Friday that after the merger happens, it will delist its stock and trade on the Nasdaq instead. Nasdaq is currently where Viacom stock is traded.

Quoting the press release: “Following the effective time of the merger of Viacom Inc. (‘Viacom’) with and into CBS (the ‘merger’), with CBS continuing as the surviving company, CBS will delist its Class A and Class B common stock from the NYSE and will list the Class A and Class B common stock of the combined company [...] on the Nasdaq Global Select Market (‘Nasdaq’).”

Investors in both companies are encouraged to read the Registration Statement for the merger, which can be found on the website for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the SEC.
