NOVEMBER 19, 2020 - Star Trek has released a closer look at two special ships from Star Trek: Discovery: the U.S.S. Voyager-J, and the U.S.S. Nog.

Both ships featured in the opening scenes of the Discovery season three episode “Die Trying”, and now both ships feature on a mocked-up tourism poster for Federation Headquarters.

On Tuesday, Star Trek on CBS All Access tweeted the poster, with the caption, “Cut off from much of the galaxy, but still dedicated to their mission. Would you want to visit Federation Headquarters?“ The poster itself is retrofuturistic, with a pastel finish, all in shades of blue on a white textured background. You can see the outline of the Voyager-J, the Nog, and a couple of other ships, along with the headquarters itself and the U.S.S. Discovery in the foreground. Discovery’s dark hull and red impulse engines contrast sharply with the otherwise monochrome palette.

Watching the opening scenes of episode five “Die Trying” was clearly meant as a shot of nostalgia, both for the Discovery crew and for us as viewers. The Voyager-J is a fitting honor as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of Star Trek: Voyager, and as we reported last week, the inclusion of the U.S.S. Nog (an Eisenberg-class starship) was a nod to the late Aron Eisenberg, who played Nog in Deep Space Nine and who sadly passed away last year. Now, fans who scrambled to get at a quick screenshot of both ships can see them far more clearly in the latest Star Trek artwork.

And of course, you can catch up with the latest Star Trek: Discovery season three: episode six “Scavengers” is available to stream now on CBS All Access.
