Star Trek: Deep Space Nine actors Jeffrey Combs and Casey Biggs are teaming up this weekend for a Virtual Fan Experience from Creation Entertainment. Ahead of the panel, TrekMovie.com spoke with the actors about their time on Star Trek, their friendship and why the two frequently end up working together.

On Deep Space Nine, the characters of Weyoun and Damar, played by Combs and Biggs, respectively, often share the screen together, and not by accident. Biggs remarked on their chemistry, saying, “They were both really great characters in their respective universes...When we came together, we just worked really well off each other.” Combs had similar feelings toward working with his colleague and friend. “We had a kind of harmony,” he said, noting the ability they have to support each other. That kind of unity allowed for greater freedom on set and gave the writers the ability to expand on the actors’ talents. Biggs said of the writing staff, “They would take stuff from Jeff and from me and see how far they could take it in the characterization of it. Both his arc and my arc were fabulous.”

When asked how the atmosphere on the set of Deep Space Nine contrasted with other Star Trek productions, Combs was quick to respond, saying, “Star Trek is such a well-run franchise. It had such a system in place. In many aspects, it was very familiar. Morale is always different, but it seemed to be familiar too.”

Combs and Biggs have made convention appearances together a number of times, but this will be their first virtual appearance as a duo. Both men are confident that their chemistry will be alive and well in spite of the distance. “We all trust each other so well,” Biggs said. “We never know what is going to come out of our mouths on the stage. That makes it fantastic. I don’t think we will have any issues doing it virtually…I’ll get in a foxhole with Jeff anytime.”

The Creation Entertainment panel and Q & A with Jeffrey Combs and Casey Biggs is taking place tomorrow, June 6th at 1pm ET. Tickets are priced to “pay what you can” through StageIt.com. Both actors will also be part of a limited virtual “meet and greet” next Wednesday, June 10th. There are ten slots being auctioned off for that event; you can place your bids at auctions.creationent.com.
