OCTOBER 7, 2022.- As much as it might feel longer ago, March 17 of this year was the broadcast date for the last episode of season four of Star Trek: Discovery. As the stories of our heroes and the Federation continue to unfold, that, of course, raises questions for fans. What’s going to happen next? Regarding one of those stories, Doug Jones had something to say recently – or maybe more precisely, had something not to say.

Some potentially spoilery bits follow.

Ni’var is back in the fold after some tense moments, and its president, the Vulcan T’Rina, and Saru have been, well, developing a relationship. The question becomes, will that continue? What’s happening between those two? Cinemablend is quoting an encouraging, if noncommittal, answer to that question. Jones said, “Change is always afoot, for the story and for the characters, individually, and Saru is included in that. My biggest concern, going into Season 5, was, ‘Will my romance with President T’Rina, my lovely Vulcan lady, still continue?’ I was happy to hear the answer, but I’ll let you figure out what that is, when you see Season 5.”

There is a lot of work to do regarding the Federation and forging the path forward, so take that response for what you will as far as Saru and T’Rina are concerned. But until season five comes along, beginning we know not yet when, you can catch up on seasons one through four, available now on Paramount+ and DVD/Blu-ray.
