SEPTEMBER 30, 2022 - IDW Publishing has announced another 4 part mini-series, Star Trek: Discovery – Adventures in the 32nd Century, based on Discovery’s recurring characters. And issue one features everyone’s favorite minor character, Grudge the cat?

This will be a flashback issue that takes place during her first meeting with Cleveland (Book) Booker and will show why she’s the greatest feline space farer of all times. The series creators consist of Kirsten Beyer and Mike Johnson, who’ll be penning the adventures, and Angel Hernandez, who will be drawing the panels.

The following issues will feature Adira Tal, Lieutenant Keyla Detmer, and science officer Linus. We may be wondering why a cat is the focus of the first comic, but the creative team at IDW have time and again proven that they are up to the challenge of taking the most obscure source, and turning it into an amazing adventure.

Discovery has the singular distinction of being both a prequel to Star Trek: The Original Series as well as a sequel to all other Treks that have followed. The 32 nd century is still a large unknown to Star Trek fans, and these issues will help explore it outside of the television episodes.
