JANUARY 10, 2022 - One of the hopeful purposes underlying Star Trek: Prodigy is that it will introduce Star Trek to a new generation of young viewers. Some of the cast and crew are exemplifying that by following up on last week’s episode, “Kobayashi.” If you haven’t seen the episode yet, follow the links below at your peril. That way lie spoilers.

TrekMovie is sharing videos from Kate Mulgrew, who voices Hologram Janeway and Angus Imrie, who voices Zero. Each of them provides a brief explanation of a concept or piece of technology which is important in the episode.

Mulgrew also says in a tweet that “Kobayashi” is a “love letter to Starfleet” referring to the environment in which Dal encounters the Kobayashi Maru scenario.

Outside the Star Trek lessons writer Aaron J. Waltke, in a linked interview, describes the painstaking process of putting that love letter together.

For all the spoilery goodness, head over to TrekMovie.com. “Kobayashi” and the other five episodes (so far) of Star Trek: Prodigy are streaming now on Paramount+.
