FEBRUARY 22, 2022 - Star Trek fans have been following the adventures of our latest crew, that of the USS Protostar, on Star Trek: Prodigy. Now we will soon (perhaps not soon enough!) have the opportunity to create a few adventures of our own with the upcoming collection of Prodigy action figures, from Playmates Toys and Paramount Consumer Products.

“We are excited to be bringing Star Trek: Prodigy toys and accessories home to families for the first time,” said Karl Aaronian, senior vice president of Playmates Toys, in a press release. “This new lineup we are unveiling is highly focused on playability — we want kids to take the toys out of the packaging and engage in imaginative play as if they were part of the Star Trek world themselves.”

Let’s assume he means “kids of all ages”, and look forward to the initial launch of six figures: Dal R’El (with Murf), Gwyndala, Jankom Pog, Hologram Janeway, Zero, and Rok-Takh. The five-inch, 1:14 scale figures will feature 14 points of articulation and come packaged in a brand-new blister pack style designed exclusively for the Star Trek: Prodigy toy line.

The action figures (other than Rok-Tahk, who will arrive in early 2023) will be available at online retailers beginning in October 2022 and on store shelves in spring 2023. New Star Trek: Prodigy ships, vehicles and role play toys will be available later in 2023.

In the meantime, make some room on those shelves while you catch up with our young heroes as they navigate the galaxy and discover together what it means to be Starfleet. Star Trek: Prodigy is streaming now on Paramount+.
