JUNE 13, 2022 - “From Unknown Graves”, the seventh episode of Trek homage The Orville: New Horizons, premieres Thursday on Hulu. Once again, the crew encounters the Kaylon species. This time, however, it seems there might be a silver lining to the otherwise dark storyline that has been plaguing the crew and the Planetary Union.

This week, the crew of the Orville discovers a Kaylon with a “very special ability”. A new trailer for the episode, posted on YouTube… doesn’t show much. We see a shuttlecraft cruising at low altitude on a barren planet, with Commander Grayson’s voice in the background telling fans that human tend to see things in black and white, and will usually take the easy way out. Then, BAM! A Kaylon appears, saying “We can find a way to coexist” - a large sidestep from the typical Kaylon attitude toward humans.

With the third season both winding down and heating up, who’s to say what’s coming next? Will The Orville be renewed for a fourth season? Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published last week, series creator Seth MacFarlane said he would love to see the series renewed. “I know the entire cast is hoping for it,” MacFarlane told THR. “It’s a big question mark for a lot of reasons. It’s not an inexpensive show to produce. It requires an ambitious budget. But the flip side of that is, it’s no more ambitious than half the other streaming shows on television. It really is going to depend on audience response.”

You can be sure we will keep you up to date on a potential fourth season of The Orville. For now, you can catch the first seven episodes of The Orville: New Horizons on Hulu. “From Unknown Graves”, the latest episode, is available to stream Thursday, July 14th.
