Characters from STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS will be visiting the Enterprise in STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS

JULY 25, 2022 - One of the stories coming out of Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend happened when cast members from one Star Trek show crashed – one might say crossed over into – another cast’s portion of the Star Trek Universe panel.

According to Deadline, Tawny Newsome and Jack Quaid, Ensigns Beckett Mariner and Brad Boimler from Star Trek: Lower Decks, showed up during a panel featuring Anson Mount, Captain Christopher Pike from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Mount went on to reveal that season two of Strange New Worlds would feature a crossover episode with Lower Decks.

The episode will be a mix of animation and live action and is set to feature Mariner and Boimler aboard the USS Enterprise.  Story and production details are still not clear, but the idea for the episode was sparked by The Boys writer David Reed, according to SNW co-showrunner Henry Alonso Myers. Star Trek veteran Jonathan Frakes will direct.

Season two of Strange New Worlds has wrapped production and awaits a premiere date. Season three of Lower Decks premieres on August 25.

While we wait to see how all this plays out, the previous seasons of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and Star Trek: Lower Decks are streaming now on Paramount+.
