MAY 31, 2023 – There are collectibles, and then there are collectibles. For over thirty years, one collector has been gathering sets, costumes, and props “spanning TV’s birth to its Golden Age to the era of Peak TV.” Now the items in his collection – including numerous items from the Star Trek universe – are going to auction, and you have an opportunity to bid on iconic items from television’s past.

Deadline is reporting on the upcoming auction from Heritage Auctions, which will be handling the collection of James Comisar, who had hoped until recently to open a museum for the likes of David Letterman’s desk and Archie and Edith Bunker’s living room chairs. The museum isn’t going to happen, so much of Comisar’s collection is headed for the auction block. That collection includes over thirty Star Trek-related items.

For the next two to three days, depending on the lot, you can bid on a pair of Mr. Spock’s ear tips from Star Trek: The Original Series, a set of tribbles from the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine season five episode, “Trials and Tribble-ations,” or a “Lenore Karidian” costume sketch by William Ware Theiss for the TOS season one episode, “The Conscience of the King.”

The auction of these and the other items takes place June 2-4. For more on the background and to see and bid on the lots for sale, head over to Deadline and Heritage Auctions.
