Star Trek Online Adds Captain Lorca to the Game

Now if you, like me, are not only missing Discovery, but missing season 1 of Discovery - then this next story might get you a little excited.

In a story from PC Gamer yesterday, we learned that Star Trek Online is bringing back Captain Lorca and Commander Landry, voiced by Jason Isaacs and Rekha Sharma, in a brand new update coming next month.

PC Gamer says: “The first season of Discovery left some unanswered questions about Lorca, while Commander Landry had an unexpected and bloody exit, so Rise of Discovery aims to fill in some blanks and give us a bit of backstory about the pair across two episodes. It's set before the events of the first season, and players will need to help the commander rescue a stranded Captain Lorca and deal with the Klingons of House Mo'Kai.”

Star Trek Online’s primary storyline is set in the 25th century, but it frequently uses time-travel to take players back and forth to key eras in the Star Trek timeline. While Discovery has been on the air, the massively multiplayer online role-playing game has featured storylines and gameplay focussed on the Discovery era, and key characters therein. We’ve previously seen episodes featuring Captain Killy (Ensign Tilly’s Mirror Universe counterpart), voiced by Discovery actor Mary Wiseman, and T’Kuvma’s sister, J’Ula. We’ve also seen Rekha Sharma as Commander Landry before, but this will be the first time we’ve seen Jason Isaacs in the game.

Star Trek Online is a free-to-play game and you can find out how to download it on PC, Xbox One or Playstation 4 at startrekonline.com. The update, Rise of Discovery, is out May 14th on PC, and follows shortly on consoles.
