MARCH 29, 2023 – As with any film or television show, the experience of engaging with a Star Trek story is enhanced by the musical score running underneath the action on screen. And the soundtracks can be inspiring and uplifting all by themselves.

Film Music Reporter is letting us know that the latest installment in the long series of Star Trek soundtracks is on its way from Lakeshore Records.

The upcoming album features selections of the original score from season three of Star Trek: Picard composed by Stephen Barton and Frederik Wiedmann. It follows up on Lakeshore’s releases of soundtracks from the first two seasons of Picard as well as Star Trek: Discovery and Lower Decks.

Stephen Barton is a British composer living and working in Los Angeles since 2001. He has composed scores for film, television, and video games, including the recent Syfy series, 12 Monkeys, and the video game, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Frederik Wiedmann is a German composer whose scores include those for multiple animated films in the  DC Universe as well as numerous feature films and television series.

The digital version of the Star Trek: Picard season three soundtrack releases on April 20. You can also preorder the vinyl on Amazon, which releases on May 12.
