The Television Academy Foundation has announced the second recipient of this year’s Star Trek Command Training Program internship: Kevin Ung, of Milpitas, California.

Earlier this month, I brought you the news of the first recipient, Faith Young. Ung was selected for the internship at the same time but was not named in the original press release. Now Ung will join Young on the program, and together they are the Command Training Program’s inaugural class. Like Young, Ung is studying film; he’s currently a graduate student at the University of Southern California pursuing a master’s degree in Film & Television Production.

The Star Trek Command Training Program internship was first announced last November. CBS Television Studios and The Television Academy Foundation joined forces to create a college internship program that would reflect Star Trek’s core values of inclusion and diversity, while giving students the opportunity to get hands-on experience in the television production industry. Due to changes brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s program will include virtual one-on-one visits with industry professionals, online panels with television industry leaders, and customized seminars with career advice.

You can find out more about the Television Academy Foundation at televisionacademy.com/foundation. According to the website, information for the 2021 cohort of the Star Trek Command Training Program will be available this November.

Please join me in congratulating Kevin Ung on his achievement!

Update 23 August 2020: This article has been updated to clarify that Young and Ung were selected for the internship at the same time.
