MARCH 10, 2022 - Back in December, we told you about Star Trek: Resurgence, the new “choice-driven adventure” video game from Dramatic Labs due for release this spring. The game will follow the crew of the U.S.S. Resolute, and is set immediately following the events of Star Trek: The Next Generation, in 2380. In a new video posted by IGN, players have the opportunity to check out the gameplay in a crew briefing with Ambassador Spock.

The seven-minute video features uncut gameplay of a round table discussion with Spock and the bridge crew of the Resolute en route to conduct difficult negotiations with two neighboring civilizations, both dependent on each other and the resources they provide. In the narrative adventure game, players will have several options to choose from to direct the course of the game or conversations being had. Direct control of player movement in Star Trek: Resurgence uses a 3rd person “over the shoulder” camera view, presented in a playable cinematic format. In the newly released video of the briefing - which is still a “work in progress” - players will have three different choices at six points throughout the conversation.

What will really blow your mind is how the voice of Spock in Star Trek: Resurgence sounds eerily like the late Leonard Nimoy.

Check out the full video of the briefing on the IGN YouTube channel. For more information on the game itself, visit startrek-resurgence.com. You can also follow game updates on Twitter at the handle @TrekResurgence.

Star Trek: Resurgence will be available for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4 gaming consoles, and exclusively on the Epic Games Store for PC in the Spring of 2022.
