AUGUST 11, 2021 - Wines That Rock, which describes their mission as “creating premium wines that enhance the direct connection between brands and fans,” has been making Star Trek-themed wines now for two years, kicking off with a Château Picard Bordeaux to accompany the premiere of Star Trek: Picard. This week on Instagram they announced two new wines, including one that COO Spencer Brewer has wanted to make since the very beginning.

“My dream,” he told TrekCore.com back in 2019, “would be to do the Cardassian Kanar.”

The hurdle for Brewer and his team? Tracking down an authentic bottle for the unique vintage featured on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, a favorite of ex-Cardassian operative Garak. But on Tuesday, Wines That Rock unveiled the fruits of what they’re calling a “rigorous multi-year search,” releasing the long-awaited Kanar alongside a Federation-themed Andorian Blue Chardonnay.

The Kanar is referred to as a “premium red blend,” but it’s the bottle that will no doubt make it a fan-favorite collectible. As the website says, “With only a handful of the original bottles found, we rendered the few remaining bottles in 3D for accuracy and worked with a specialized facility in Southern Italy to recreate and forge an identical replica, resulting in one of the most fascinating bottles in the Galaxy.”

Wines That Rock is known for their attention to detail, which also shows in the Andorian Blue Chardonnay, featuring a United Federation of Planets medallion affixed to the front of the bottle. As Wines That Rock puts it, “The Andorian Blue Chardonnay, a premium Chardonnay from Santa Lucia Highlands, has a stellar blue color that pays homage to the history of colorful Star Trek spirits.”
