MARCH 13, 2022 - With a new Star Trek movie set to be filming by the end of 2022, lead actor Chris Pine is letting the world know just how he feels about getting back on the bridge. In a word, “thrilled”! While on the red carpet promoting his latest film All the Old Knives, Pine spoke with several news outlets about the upcoming Star Trek film. His thoughts on the project were brought together in a recent report by TrekMovie.com.

Several weeks ago, Executive Producer J.J. Abrams announced that negotiations had begun for a fourth Star Trek film featuring the cast of the Kelvin timeline. That announcement came as a surprise to the film’s stars - Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban and Simon Pegg. It seems the shock has worn off, as Pine is confident the cast is ready to return. “I know we are all excited to come back and would love to come back,” Pine told Entertainment Tonight. He added, “This is a tight family. We’ve been working together for fifteen years… I think we’re ready to get back to work and excited to see a script, whenever that should come in, and excited for Matt [Shakman] to direct.”

Pine also took a moment to reflect on the passing of Star Trek co-star Anton Yelchin, who held the role of Chekov. Calling Yelchin “part of the fabric of our family”, he went on to say, “I think by virtue of going to work we always carry him with us.”
