Ethan Peck unboxes a Star Trek helmet

StarTrek.com has released a new video featuring Ethan Peck...unboxing a classic Star Trek toy: the Spock helmet.

Many fans will recognize the bizarre toy from the 1970s as a white children’s helmet with a visor and a red light on the top, featuring the word “SPOCK” in bold lettering on the front. It’s widely recognized as one of the more odd merchandising choices of that era, since it was a toy that was never featured on Star Trek, and it didn’t even look convincingly like something that might have been on Star Trek. Pretty much the only connection to Trek was the all-caps SPOCK.

In the StarTrek.com video, Peck inspects the helmet, tries it on (which is amusing since it’s sized for children), and he even attempts to improvise what the commercial for it might have been like. The whole video is a fun piece of nostalgia and well worth a watch, which you can do for yourself at StarTrek.com.
