SEPTEMBER 6, 2021 - It’s that time again. The latest episodes of Star Trek: Lower Decks will drop in just two days, marking the midway point through the second season of the series. “An Embarrassment of Dooplers” promises to be another wild ride! Paramount+ has shared some images from the episode, along with a short teaser video, which was posted to StarTrek.com.

Between the teaser and the photos, all we really know is that the senior officers of the Cerritos are on their way to Starbase 24 for the “Command Conference” - not to mention the “epic afterparty”. Mariner declares they are “definitely going” and, with Boimler in tow, the two embark on their own wild ride in a machine very much like the Argo ATV (the dune buggy seen in Star Trek: Nemesis).

Mostly it seems to be a lot of Boimler screaming as Mariner drives the ATV through…pretty much everything. That includes driving through windows, crowds of people, and the wall of some sort of artificial environment. And all of it done wearing their “dress white” uniforms. Along the way, the pair come across an alien named Melvis (played by Tom Kenny) in what looks to be a museum. Melvis is armed, and there’s sure to be some tension there, along with more screaming from Ensign Boimler.

It looks like Ensigns Tendi and Rutherford may be enjoying their time off while the commanders are at the conference. The pair are building a model starship similar to the old AMT models from back in the day, but with a 24th century spin. “An Embarrassment of Dooplers” also promises at least one Tellarite on screen, albeit an angry looking one.

But, then again, when isn’t a Tellarite angry?

The episode also features the voice of television legend Richard Kind (Mad About You, American Dad) as Doopler.

Check out the images from the upcoming episode below, and be sure to watch the teaser video at startrek.com. “An Embarrassment of Dooplers” airs September 9th on Paramount+.
