Star Trek: Discovery star Anthony Rapp has indicated that there’s a chance that Discovery season three could be delayed by concerns over coronavirus.

A piece from ComicBook.com over the weekend reported that Rapp made the comments in the chat of an Instagram live video that co-star Wilson Cruz hosted last Wednesday. According to ComicBook.com, “During the chat, the topic of Discovery came up. Cruz's co-star Anthony Rapp chimed in via the comments section, saying that editing and visual effects work for the new season is still underway, but that the crew is now working from home, which will slow the process.”

Cruz followed up on Twitter later that day, saying, “I didn’t see [Anthony’s] comment this morning on #InstagramLive... but see for yourself in regards to #startrekdiscovery season 3. It’s coming, but it may be a little longer than we thought... It’s coming though!”

We’ve had no definitive word yet from CBS All Access around the premiere date of the new season. In January, executive producer Heather Kadin said that the show could be ready as early as May, but it was up to CBS All Access to schedule it. Of course, that was before widespread disruptions in Hollywood and elsewhere due to concerns over coronavirus.

For now, if you’re homebound, like the Discovery editors and VFX artists, you can reacquaint yourself with Discovery seasons one and two - and all the Star Trek: Short Treks - now streaming on CBS All Access.
