Star Trek: Discovery “For Your Consideration” Exhibit on Display at Paley Center for Media

Submissions for this year’s Emmy Awards are now open. While the awards themselves are not handed out until late September, now is the start of FYC - For Your Consideration - season, where television shows campaign for why they should bring home this year’s nods.

Variety today brings us news on how Star Trek: Discovery will open its campaign. Later today, they’ll be hosting an FYC panel at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills, featuring series stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, Ethan Peck and Wilson Cruz, as well as producers Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin and Michelle Paradise, and Jason Zimmerman, visual effects supervisor.

Then tomorrow, on May 8th, Star Trek: Discovery will then open an exhibit called “Fight for the Future”, also at the Paley Center.

Variety says of the exhibit: “[It] takes up two floors of the Paley Center and features a virtual reality experience, as well as installations featuring production and concept art, as well as models, props, costumes, full prosthetic makeup busts, and set pieces including the U.S.S. Discovery captain’s chair.”

Variety also quotes CBS Television Studios President David Stapf saying: “This exhibit will allow fans a tactile experience never before seen beyond the studio’s stages.”

While the exhibit is obviously focused on presenting a case to the Academy, Star Trek: Discovery: Fight for the Future will be open to the public, for FREE, Wednesday May 8th through Sunday, July 7th.
