JUNE 30, 2022 - She collected over eighty screen credits before retiring from acting in 2020. Those credits include an appearance in Farscape, as well as her best-known roles in ER and Nash Bridges. Sadly, we must report that Mary Mara has died at the age of 61 from apparent drowning while swimming in the St. Lawrence River, according to Variety.

Star Trek fans will know Mary Mara as the Sphere-Builder Presage from the Star Trek: Enterprise season three episodes, “The Council,” “Countdown,” and “Zero Hour.”

Mara’s manager, Craig Dorfman, said, ““Mary was one of the finest actresses I ever met. I still remember seeing her onstage in 1992 in ‘Mad Forest’ off Broadway. She was electric, funny and a true individual. Everyone loved her. She will be missed.”

Her many television appearances also included Law & Order and The West Wing. She made her film debut in Love Potion No. 9, in 1992. Mara also appeared on stage alongside the likes of Michelle Pfeiffer and William Hurt.
