Get your calendars ready for another week of Star Trek virtual events!

If you’re in the mood to get together with some fellow Trekkies, then make sure you get out to one of these virtual events over the next week:

BSFG Welcomes Dr. Una McCormack - Friday, April 9th

First up, the Birmingham Science Fiction Group out of Birmingham in the U.K. is holding an online event with Dr. Una McCormack, this Friday, April 9th at 7:45pm BST. Dr. McCormack is a New York Times bestselling author who’s written several Star Trek novels, including the recent Star Trek: Picard: The Last Best Hope, The Autobiography of Kathryn Janeway, and the upcoming Discovery novel Wonderlands.

Tickets are priced at £3.02 (for some reason), but they’re open to anyone. Find out more at birminghamsfgroup.org.uk.

Trek to End Alzheimer’s - Saturday, April 10th

Then on Saturday, April 10th, the Trek to End Alzheimer’s is a virtual Star Trek trivia event taking place at noon CT. It’s to benefit the Jefferson City Walk to End Alzheimer’s, and all ticket proceeds go to the Alzheimer’s Association. There are prizes for the winners up to $100! Plus, every $5 ticket sold will get a matching donation, so your money goes even further!

Women at Warp: Shore Leave - Saturday, April 10th

Later on Saturday, at 6pm ET, our sister podcast Women at Warp will be hopping aboard the JoCo Virtual Cruise for a panel all about shore leave. They’ll be discussing the planets and places where the characters of Star Trek relax and unwind, and living vicariously through them!

GalaxyCon Live: Star Trek: The Next Generation - Sunday, April 11th

And last, but not least, on Sunday, April 11th at 12pm ET, some of the stars of Star Trek: First Contact will be appearing at GalaxyCon Live. Join Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis and Alice Krige for a virtual Q&A session.

Like all GalaxyCon Live events, tickets are free with registration, and you can purchase autographs and one-on-one video chats. Get more information at galaxycon.com.

The regular stuff

And finally, here’s a recap of the stuff that’s going on every week; if you haven’t joined in yet and you’re at a loose end, now would be a great time to do it.

  • These are the Twitter watchalongs:

    • #allstartrek runs Sunday through Friday at 8/7C and follows the Heroes and Icons Channel’s All Star Trek programme.

    • #TOSSatNight starts at 9pm PT on Saturday night and follows a different episode of The Original Series every week, and

    • #StarTrekHour is a Q&A-format event, every Tuesday at 1pm PT.

  • Then there’s Star Trek: Watch Party, hosted daily and coordinated on Facebook. Every evening, they use the Teleparty browser extension to watch Star Trek together. To find out more, head over to Star Trek: Watch Party on Facebook.

  • And finally, Sid City Social Club, hosted by Star Trek: Deep Space Nine star Alexander Siddig’s official fan website, is continuing their twice-weekly livestreams on Fridays and Tuesdays. To find out more, including how to join in, head to sidcity.net.

If you have an online event or gathering you’d like me to promote on the show, let me know! How are YOU getting together with your fellow Trekkies, without leaving the house?
