William Shatner Live Stream Q&A: Saturday, May 7

GalaxyCon will be hosting another virtual Q&A with William Shatner, this Saturday at 12pm ET. He will also be doing live chats and autographing photos, posters, and Funko Pops. The ongoing To Proudly Go viewing parties (see The Regular Stuff below) will be a special gathering this week. It will be a viewing of both the season finale of Star Trek: Picard and the series premiere of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Celebrity guest Jackie Cox, from RuPaul’s Drag Race will be there. There is no cover, but donations will benefit the Pop Culture Hero Coalition. The event, as usual, will start at 6pm ET at the Barracuda Lounge, in New York City. Watch Trek – Look Forward: Wednesday, May 11

Another Watch Trek – Look Forward virtual viewing party will be happening next Wednesday at 6:30pm PT. They will be discussing what Star Trek has to say about what it is to be a villain. Free registration is at Watch Trek – Look Forward.

The Regular Stuff

  • These are the Twitter watchalongs:

    • #allstartrek runs Sunday through Friday at 8/7C and follows the Heroes and Icons Channel’s All Star Trek programme.

    • #TOSSatNight starts at 9pm PT on Saturday night and follows a different episode of The Original Series every week, and

    • #StarTrekHour is a Q&A-format event, every Tuesday at 1pm PT.

  • Then there’s Star Trek: Watch Party, hosted daily and coordinated on Facebook. Every evening, they use the Teleparty browser extension to watch Star Trek together. To find out more, head over to Star Trek: Watch Party on Facebook.

  • Speaking of a Star Trek watch party: the iBlind Users Group hosts Trekkie Talk on the first and third Thursdays of every month. They watch an audio descriptive version of a Star Trek episode and get together virtually to discuss it. To find out how to join in, visit ibugtoday.com/trekkie-talk.

  • But wait, there’s more watch partying: Club IDIC hosts a weekly watch party and discussion at 6pm Alberta Time every Friday. The schedule and Zoom links are available at the Club IDIC Facebook page.

  • To Proudly Go, a New York-based nonprofit, will be hosting Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 1 viewing parties each Saturday. The gatherings begin at 6:00pm ET at the Barracuda Lounge in New York City. Tickets are free, and vaccination is required. The viewing parties also include Star Trek trivia games, special Star Trek-themed drag performances, two-for-one drinks, fabulous Star Trek prizes, and merchandise.   • Virtual Trek Con presents The Main Viewer every Tuesday - a live discussion show on YT with occasional special guests and an open chat geared towards fan interaction.

  • Disco Does DnD - livestream DnD game with DSC actors on Twitch, every Sunday at 1pmPT/4pmET. 

  • And finally, there’s Sid City Social Club, hosted by Star Trek: Deep Space Nine star Alexander Siddig’s official fan website. They meet twice monthly on the first Tuesday and third Friday of every month, with occasional pop-up meetings with Sid as his schedule allows.
