NOVEMBER 28, 2021 - Nickelodeon has announced an hour-long special event which will see the Star Trek: Prodigy pilot, “Lost and Found”, broadcast on the cable channel on December 17th, 2021 at 8pm ET. The news came to us by way of TrekCore.com.

According to the report, viewers saw an advertisement for Nickelodeon’s first look at Prodigy and quickly uploaded the announcement to YouTube. While the news has left some to speculate the series would begin airing regularly on Nickelodeon starting December 17th, the promotional video clearly states the broadcast is a one-hour, special event. Unfortunately, there is no new information as to when the series will begin airing on Nickelodeon.

Only two weeks ago, it was announced that Prodigy would have a mid-season break on Paramount+. That news came with the promise that the first season would continue to air on the streaming service beginning January 6th, 2022. At the same time, it was also revealed the first season would be extended to 20 episodes, making the mid-season hiatus more of a quarter-season hiatus, instead. With this extension now in place, it’s possible ViacomCBS is using the broadcast of “Lost and Found” to draw Nickelodeon viewers to the Paramount+ service.

Once a firm plan is in place for the series at Nickelodeon, you can be sure we’ll keep you up to date with the latest information as it is made available. Once again, the Star Trek: Prodigy pilot “Lost and Found”, parts one and two, will air on Nickelodeon December 17th at 8pm ET.
